Fake links

People lose more to fake copies of the market than to anything the market itself does. A fake link points at a copy of the login and storefront. It changes two things only. The address in your bar, and the wallet you deposit to. Everything else looks right, and that is exactly the point.

How the trick runs

1. Someone stands up a copy at an address that looks close to a real one, and pushes it through search ads and pages that claim to have the official link.
2. You log in. The copy grabs your name and password and quietly passes them to the real market, so your session seems to work and nothing feels wrong.
3. You make a deposit. The wallet on the page is theirs. The coins are gone and the real market never saw them.

The check that stops it

• Only copy links from this directory over its onion, or from the signed list.
• Match the address on the login page to your bar, every single time.
• Never give your recovery words to log in. A page that asks is a fake.

Every loss to a fake starts with a link nobody checked. Make the check a habit and the whole trick falls apart, because a fake cannot be on the signed list and cannot show the real address on its own login page.
