Small habits
This is not one clever trick. It is a handful of dull habits that stop the small leaks from adding up into a name.
Keep it apart
- Use a username you have never used anywhere else. One reused handle links this account to your real trail in a single search.
- Use a password made only for this account, kept in a local password manager.
- Keep the market on its own browser profile, and ideally its own Tails stick, away from your everyday accounts.
Mind what you type
The free text boxes are where people give themselves away. Messages to a vendor, dispute notes, reviews. More people read them than you think. Never drop a real name, a place near you, or an exact time. Write like the note could be public one day, because it might be.
Money habits
Do not send coins straight from an exchange that checked your ID. Move them through your own wallet first, and use Monero where you can. That breaks the direct line from your identity to the market.
