Are the links up
Nine times out of ten, when a link will not open it is the Tor network having a rough patch, not the market being gone. Onion addresses take a longer path than a normal website. Your Tor client has to look the service up and then set up a meeting point, and any step in that can stall, especially when onion sites are getting flooded across the whole network. The result looks the same from your side as the market being down, so it is worth checking before you worry.
Run these checks first
- Ask Tor for a new circuit on that tab and try again. A fresh path fixes most of it.
- Switch to another link from the list. They all reach the same market.
- Open any other onion site, or check whether normal Tor browsing is slow too. If everything is slow, the network is busy and it will pass.
- Make sure Tor Browser is up to date.
When it is a real outage
If every link fails for several minutes while the rest of your Tor browsing is fine, then the market itself is probably having a moment. That is rare and it usually clears on its own within a short while. Keeping only a small balance on the market means an outage is never a real problem for you. Your account and funds sit on the market, not on any one address, so when a link comes back everything is where you left it.
